Help Feed the Teachers on Curriculum Night! Tuesday 10/15
The PTSA is providing a takeout dinner on Curriculum Night 10/15 to help fuel our staff through their extra long day, and we need your help with set-up, clean-up, drinks and desserts! Please sign up to contribute treats or time, and email [email protected] with any questions.

Stay tuned for more information about PTSA General Meetings, which take place three times a year (fall, winter, and spring) in the school cafeteria and are open to all.
PTSA Board meetings take place monthly and are also open to all PTSA members to attend. Our plan is for first-of-the-month Thursday evenings, but dates and locations will tend to vary. So, if you want to come, please confirm the details with [email protected].
Volunteering at Hamilton International
The PTSA often hosts events during school hours. To make these events successful, we need many parent volunteers. To volunteer, you must be authorized through Seattle Public Schools to volunteer at HIMS. The authorization process can sometimes take up to two weeks to complete, so – get your registration done early in the year! Then when an opportunity to volunteer arises, you’re all set.

There, you will need to complete an online training called Preventing Sexual Abuse of Children and Youth; review the volunteer handbook; and complete the Volunteer Application, which includes a criminal background check.
Before your first volunteer shift, the school volunteer program liaison (at HIMS this is Sandy Adams in the front office) must verify your identity in person (or through an online meeting for virtual volunteers).
If you are a returning volunteer at HIMS or other SPS schools, you must renew your volunteer application. To do this, click here.
If you are already an approved volunteer at another SPS school, please be sure to add HIMS to your list of schools. To do this, you will need to click “Edit or Renew Volunteer Application” and scroll down to the list of schools. Be sure the Hamilton International Middle School box is checked.
