What an exciting start to the 2025/6 year. On August 27th, we kicked off the 2025/6 school year by welcomed the largest incoming 6th grade class in HIMS history to an ice cream social. The event was held behind the school where students and families got to enjoy icy treats, meet new classmates and catch up with friends. Our first week of school was supported by Volunteers who patiently assisted with the front office and school lunch for incoming students.
Our 6th grade initiation continued with an outing to see the Play that Goes Wrong on September 19th and a night out for parents/guardians at a local brewery on September 23rd. Special Education Cargivers also gathered on October 7th for an informal meeting to connect at a cider house.
We officially launched Hamilton Spirit Wear with T-shirts, sweatshirts and PJ pants in both youth and adult sizes. Our booth at Curriculum Night on October 16th sold out most sizes and we are thrilled to be spotting kids (and parents) representing around the school and around town!
Finally our first Hawk Day of the year on Halloween was made possible by the 40+ Volunteers who showed up on the rainy friday to facilitate a fun and safe event. We had a mixed grade dance, snacks, and games for all to enjoy. A special thanks to the PTSA Event Chairs and Hamilton Adminstration for helping families navigate the new SPS Volunteering process.
